No Police Department representatives were available to provide a report. Elizabeth Lambe, Executive Director of the Los Cerritos Wetlands Land Trust, spoke about the proposed development at the site of the Seaport Marina Hotel. She noted the Environmental Impact Report is now available, which contains details of the traffic and environmental impacts of the project. The project does not meet the zoning regulations for the area. A public meeting to learn about the project and the environmental impacts will be held Monday, May 17. Gene Rotondo, President of the BSBA, introduced the new BSBA Executive Director, DeDe Rossi. He asked residents to contact him concerning problems with any bars in the Shore, at 310.779.2700. He described these measures he is taking to improve relations with residents: late-night debris pickup on the streets adjacent to Legends and cessation of alcohol service at Legends earlier than 2 am. He described construction at Acapulco Inn, of which he is part owner, to add sidewalk dining and change the menu to include more food items, which he described as similar to "Jimmy Buffet or Tommy Bahama" style. Stephanie Lyn, one of the owners of the new Hide and Seek Boutique, spoke about their business and its offerings, consisting of donated goods. Ms. Rossi announced some upcoming events, such as the Stroll and Shop day. Julie Maleki from Third District Councilman Gary Delong's office announced these items of interest: ongoing sidewalk repairs, repaving of portions of Second Street, the status of planned changes to Livingston Drive. She announced the free document shredding event on May 15 at the Sea Scout base, and the next Third District Neighborhood meeting. There were expenses of $300 for a donation to the Bay Shore Library and $54.88 for prepaid photocopies at Mailboxes Etc. Bill Sheehan reported the proposal for changes to Dog Beach which was discussed at the recent Beach Subcommittee meeting. The proposal, which includes expanding the size of Dog Beach, was not supported during the discussion. The consensus was that better enforcement of the existing Dog Beach rules is needed. Vice President Terence Endersen reported these items from the April Parking Commission meeting: Completion of alley repaving, sidewalk repair at Second Street and Park Avenue, delay of the "big Belly" trash container, and the unpopular ticketing of cars at expired meters on Easter. Questioned about the resident board position vacancy on the Commission, he replied he will contact the mayor again about his application. (The resident board position has been vacant for one year; Endersen was nominated by BSRA for the position.) Secretary Jeff Miller noted the two vacancies of the BSRA Executive Board and proposed the appointment of Elizabeth Borsting and Julie Dean to fill these positions. They were appointed to serve the remainder of the FY 2009-2010 term by a unanimous vote of the board. Jim Corbett thanked the Board for support of the upcoming kite surfing event he is spearheading. The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 pm. Submitted by: Jeff Miller, Recording Secretary
